DISTILLED IN 2014, BOTTLED IN 2025

Following the 2024 "Secret Islay" with a PX finish, this is the second undisclosed Islay single malt in the range. It is quite common for casks to be offered for sale with the obligation not to disclose the distillery of origin — hence the designation "Undisclosed Islay". Sometimes the distillery is known internally, but this is not always the case. The exact distillery for this release remains unknown. Nevertheless, because there are only 10 active distilleries on Islay and most have a fairly distinct flavor profile, it is not impossible to make an educated guess. The estimation is that this is likely a Caol Ila.

This is the second “mystery Islay” in the range — an interesting addition to the previously launched Secret Islay with a PX finish. With such a bottling, one gets the added excitement of guessing, and the taste must speak for itself. That makes it extra fascinating: on the one hand, the challenge of guessing the origin, and on the other, the pure experience of an Islay single malt without preconceived expectations.

This 10-year-old Islay single malt is a classic, assertive Islay dram: peaty, smoky, and maritime — balanced by plenty of sweetness.

NOSE:
A mix of maritime salty air, sea breeze, and smoky peat. A slight hint of bacon.

PALATE:
Powerful and smoky. Peat smoke hits early. Sea salt, tar, and a medicinal undertone.

FINISH:
Long, warming, smoky finish. The briny & medicinal notes linger wonderfully for a long time.
